For many of us life is so busy that we tend to eat quickly and move on to the next task in life. There are those of us that still relax and converse during dining catching up on the lives of each family member. Spending more time at the dining table is what Marie-Christine Dorner had in mind in creating the Ivy chair. Notice how the chair curves back and seems to fit the posture of the back for an extended period at the dining table. The height of the chair will also support the head and shoulders when the body is leaned back. If your family spends time at the dining table then a chair design similar to the Ivy chair might make your dining experience more comfortable.
You can tell the Four Design collection was designed by architects especially when you see their stacking chairs and how elegantly they fit together. In today’s commercial office environment confidence is often a result of the visual appeal of the surroundings and the first impression that is made. Architects Christina Strand and Niels Hvass run Four Design of Denmark that focuses on crisp clean designs comprised of minimal elements, and “to the point” functional office tables, chairs, desks, and storage units. The Four Design series of Moventi and Four Cant products mesh well in a variety of eye pleasing finishes and metal accents that create a harmonious office environment.
Having worked in office environments for many years, I know that the design of the setting can go a long way towards enhancing the experience of the employees. For example, hip and fresh designs and colors indicate new ideas and growth. Conversely, drab colors may indicate a more mature company that is on “auto-pilot”. I myself have worked in both environments. I came across an interesting company, Arcadia Contract, which has a “very cool” line. In these pictures you see great colors, shapes, and designs that are sure to brighten up any office setting. I found their line of modular office furniture to be inspiring for companies looking for fresh and new ideas. You can find a link to their site here.

I came across this picture and wanted to share it with my readers. Have any of you considered red for your dining chairs? How about a more contemporary look to spice things up? This is an interesting dining furniture combination with a fun and light look. The lines and shapes of the dining chairs offer a very contemporary feel while reflecting on classic designs of the past. The steel legs of the chairs blend with the legs of the dining table with out adhering to a look that is redundant. In addition the glass table offers a clean feel without making the setting to heavy.
