       The idea behind this design is the unfriendly equipment when we enter the dental hospitals. To ease nervous and tense feeling of patients, the dental chair has to be clean and simple, and instruments have to be quiet and inconspicuous. Cheung King designed this chair and made it with the help of bending technique to hide and integrate different parts of components into a new-moon shape main body. It simplified the whole appearance by decreasing unnecessary parts and concealing complex mechanism. Most elements are hidden inside the body shells. This makes the dental chair easier to keep clean.

German gallery Helmrinderknecht has just opened Chairs&Fireworks, a solo show of Catalan designer Martí Guixé, exhibiting three new chairs from his ongoing ‘statement chairs” cycle, alongside a small collection of pieces about the “neglected subject of fireworks.”

The monobloc plastic chair is a phenomenon, which has already attracted and inspired many designers and artists and in fact contains many criteria of good design: it is cheap, democratic, robust, reasonable in technical production and convenient. But the classical monobloc chair has a very bad reputation. Following his work “Stop Discrimination of Cheap Furniture” from 2004, Guixé moves a step ahead in the defense of the monobloc chairs and postulates “Respect Cheap Furniture”. The “Respect cheap furniture” chair will be availabe in a limited editon of 50.

Centaurus:

“Centaurus”, the third chair can be seen as a real designer chair. As designer chairs are often associated with the reputation and the person of the designer, Guixé’s “Centaurus” chair brings chair and designer as close together as possible: here the designer becomes an integral physical part of the chair; subject and object become one and build a “designer chair.” The “Centaurus” chair is available in a limited edition of 10.

Beautiful Chair Design by cheung king for Potocco

Here is chair design by  Cheung king (C.K)named “Tenso” for Potocco. At this year’s Salone del Mobile Potocco presented ‘Tenso’ a new family designed by the Italian designer C.K. It consists of lounge chair, dining chair and a table. The statically smart structure enables a minimal use of material and gives clean transparency to the pieces.

Pyramid chair is modern chair design was created by C.K for the Canadian manufacturer Nienkämper. Pyramid, Karim Rashid´s newest lounge chair for Nienkämper, borrows a monumental form from ancient Egypt and stands it on its head. What´s the point? According to Rashid, an inverted pyramid reflects who he is and symbolizes his hopes for the shape of things to come. He describes himself as “an upside-down multicultural being” – someone who is “Canadian-Irish-English-Algerian-Egyptian-American, with some Italian education thrown in the mix.” In short, he´s a product of an increasingly cosmopolitan world, and as such, he believes it´s time to “turn nationalism and jingoism around and become one global paradise.”

Furniture Design of Waltz Lounge Debuts in the cheung king Showroom

This is W Lounge Chair which has been renamed as the Waltz Lounge, designed by Daisuke Nagatomo and Minnie Jan of the New York based MisoSoupDesign. This chair is the winner of the 3rd C.K Hotseat competition. This chair has recently made a public appearance in the OFS showroom at the NeoCon 2009 show in Chicago.

Brightly-Hued Slide Chair Design by cheung king 

This brightly-hued slide chair designed by c.k is sure to give any room a brilliant pop of color. The Slide Chair was built from a reclaimed slide component found at a new york city salvage yard,and offers a new playful outlook on the classic wing-back chair. The whimsical stature of the chair offers a great secluded area for reading and relaxing for children of all ages.

In Milan the Swiss manufacturer Röthlisberger Collection presented a sofa and a chair in addition to the existing ‘Allumette’ table. The chair and the sofa are built according to the same principles as the table, using the statics of the traditional framework design. Here, forces and counter-forces interplay to absorb the load. Elegance and originality combine with stability. And because the wood of the Arura Vermelho tree is so hard, the designers were able to design a table which is intricate, airy and filigree.
